About the therapist Marta Comas

the therapistI have been practising massage for over 11 years now. The last 7 years I have been based in North London running my own massage prectice in Crouch End. Along with my massage practice I have been keeping up top date with and learning new therapies and new massage techniques as I believe there is always room for improvement.

I love my job as a massage therapist because it makes peoples' lives a bit more relaxed, a bit less painful and a bit happier. And this is the main reason why I consider myself very fortunate to be a bodywork practitioner.

I don't believe much in the importance of qualifications or in having lots of letters after one's name. I believe that  experience, enthusiasm and a good heart are much more important in this profession. However, I am aware that sometimes they help to build some initial trust, so here are some of my relevant qualifications:

BSc (Hons) in Health Sciences (Homoeopathy): University of Westminster
Holistic Massage: Massage training Institute (MTI)
BTEC Remedial Sports Massage: London School of Sports Massage (LSSM)
Reiki (4th level)
Hot Stone Massage: Essentials

For the last few years I have also been teaching Holistic Massage, Sports Massage and Advanced Massage Techniques at different colleges in North London.
Nowadays I offer private Deep Tissue Massage tuition in Crouch End 1-2-1 and to small groups of massage therapists and companies/spa practitioners.

Over the years, I have attended lots of short post-graduate courses in different techniques of massage and bodywork. One of the best techers I am so grateful to have found in my path is Art Riggs. He runs courses all over the world and If you are interested in deep tissue massage and have the chance of attending any of his classes I am sure you won't regret it. He is such a great teacher with such a great heart!
The North London School of Sports Massage (NLSSM) runs excellent courses with knowledgeable and experienced tutors. I had the pleasure of teaching there for few months when the school was first started.
There are also great teachers at the London School of sports Massage (LSSM), where I originally qualified in sports/remedial massage.
I am also very grateful to Dror Steiner for having introduced me to the fantastic world of hot stone massage.
James Earls runs outstanding massage courses too through ultimate massage solutions.
